Summary
Milica Launcher does not collect, store on a server, transmit or sell any personal data. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking of any kind.
The app does not request the Android internet permission. Without it the operating system will not allow the app to open a network connection, so your data cannot leave your device even in principle. This is verifiable: the permission list on the app's Google Play listing includes no network access.
Data the app collects
None. Milica Launcher has no account, no sign-in, no user identifier and no server to send anything to. We never see how you use the app, which apps you have installed, or that you installed Milica at all.
Data stored on your device
Your settings are saved in the app's private storage, readable only by Milica Launcher itself. That includes:
- Which apps you chose as favourites, hidden, or placed in the vault
- The PIN for the secure vault
- Visual preferences: typeface, text size, clock style and background
- A short list of recently opened apps, capped at seven entries
The vault PIN and the list of hidden apps are excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so they stay on the phone that created them. Uninstalling Milica Launcher deletes all of it.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Seeing apps that have a launcher icon — to show your installed apps. This is the core function of a launcher. Milica queries only apps with a home-screen entry point; it does not use the broad "query all packages" permission.
- Requesting an uninstall — to open Android's own uninstall dialog when you pick "Uninstall" from an app's menu. Milica never removes anything by itself; the system always asks you to confirm.
- Expanding the status bar — to open the notification shade when you swipe down on the home screen.
- Modifying system settings — to lower screen brightness when Sleep Mode is active. Optional, and granted by you from Android settings.
- Do Not Disturb access — to silence notifications during Sleep Mode. Optional.
- Setting the wallpaper — to apply your chosen background to the system as well, so the recents screen matches. Optional.
- Start on boot — to re-arm your Sleep Mode schedule after a restart, because Android clears scheduled alarms on reboot.
Milica Launcher does not use an accessibility service. It cannot read the contents of your screen and does not record what you type. The optional permissions above are requested only if you turn on the feature that needs them, and the app works fully without granting them.
Third-party services
None. Milica Launcher integrates no SDK that receives data — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no sign-in provider. The open-source libraries it is built on (Jetpack Compose, AndroidX and Coil) run entirely on your device.
Children
Milica Launcher is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated and the new version is published at this same address. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
